Resettlement Worker (35 hours per week)

Salary: £24,000 plus Nest pension, Staff health plans

Fixed term to April 2029


Role Summary

The service aims to empower BAME women involved in the criminal justice system, with addictions or experiencing domestic abuse to live free from abuse, and be empowered to make decisions.


Previous experience of directly supporting women and families with complex needs, addictions and an understanding of the dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse is essential.


This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and clearance.

Independent Domestic

Violence Advocate (21 hrs p/week)

Salary: £15,233 plus Nest pension, Staff health plans

Fixed term to April 2026


Role Summary

The service aims to empower BAME women by supporting them to overcome issues of domestic abuse.


The post is office based in our City Centre based

Birmingham location.


Experience of directly supporting vulnerable women and children and understanding of domestic and sexual abuse is essential.

Refuge Support Worker

(21 hrs p/week)

Salary:  £15,233 plus Nest pension, Staff health plans

Fixed term to April 2026


Role Summary

The service aims to empower BAME women fleeing from domestic abuse and provide safe and confidential accommodation. 


The post is located in WAITS refuges and in our office based in Birmingham City Centre.


Experience of directly supporting vulnerable women and an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse is essential.

Our team is made up of a dedicated and committed team of women from varied backgrounds that share our common Vision & Mission.


This includes full-time, part-time and sessional staff as well as our volunteers and the Board of Trustees.


We also work with a range of other agencies to provide holistic support, ensuring that all of the individual’s needs are met.

WAITS Ambassadors are a group of innovative and forward thinking people, diverse in their backgrounds, experiences and skills.


But the one thing they do all have very much in common is a passion for helping women who are in crisis!


They provide invaluable fundraising ideas; and then plan, organise and facilitate these ideas, helping us to raise funds to support women in crisis.
