WAITS carries out incredibly meaningful and important work by assisting women who are victims of domestic abuse, providing everything from safety and immediate practicalities to opportunities that rebuild their independence and self-worth. To continue doing this, WAITS is heavily reliant on aid from generous volunteers.
Here are two vital volunteer roles and their descriptions:
- Befrienders: Befrienders provide sympathetic ears to women who have escaped or are experiencing domestic abuse. This is invaluable in providing support in a safe environment.
- Administrators: Administration volunteers assist with the daily administration tasks that keep WAITS running. It is crucial that they are skilled in using Microsoft Office.

We welcome those that can assist us in supporting our work with women affected by domestic abuse
WAITS took advantage of the beautiful weather on Friday, the 26th of June to organise a seaside trip to the beach. This seaside outing allowed everyone to step back from their daily struggles.
Did you know that less than 1.8% of charitable grants go to women’s organisations like WAITS even though demand for support services have been skyrocketing since 2021?
WAITS wishes to congratulate our Ambassador, Byron Batten, who is participating in multiple cycling challenges to promote and raise money for WAITS and the survivors of domestic abuse.
