The WAITS Refuge hosts monthly group sessions that provide clients and survivors of domestic abuse with the opportunity to develop friendships and engage in uplifting social activities. WAITS took advantage of the beautiful weather on Friday, the 26th of June to organise a seaside trip to the beach.

This seaside outing allowed everyone to step back from their daily struggles, savour the fresh air, and socialize outdoors. Furthermore, for some of the clients, it was their first time visiting the beach, making the experience even more meaningful.

The clients from the WAITS Refuge thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was an unbelievably joyful experience for everyone because they explored the beach, took pictures, and played games together.

Many clients also appreciated the opportunity to socialise with other refuge ladies. One client even explicitly stated, "For the first time in 7 months, I smiled with real happiness without worrying or feeling scared."
